Medical-records checklist

What to collect, and how to get it in Skåne.

What 1177 Journalen shows in Skåne

You can read some of your records yourself online (1177 Skåne, Läs din journal) [E].

Visible online:

  • Clinical notes, as soon as they are signed. A 14-day filter can hide the newest notes.
  • Radiology referrals and reports since June 2020.
  • Clinical-chemistry results.
  • Vaccinations given by Region Skåne's public services.

Not visible online: diagnoses, care contacts, medications and the care plan. Pathology (PAD) and flow-cytometry reports are not listed as visible, so they must be ordered.

How to order copies

[E] There are three routes, and GDPR sets a deadline for the reply:

  1. E-service or phone. Use the 1177 e-service Beställ utskrift från journal, or call Journalservice on 0771-86 66 00 (weekdays 9–12). Printouts are mainly sent as a PDF to your 1177 inbox.
  2. GDPR access request. Region Skåne's GDPR Art. 15 form (version 2026-06-01) gives a free printout of your clinical notes in about a week, sent by registered post. The same form can be used to request X-ray images, referrals and extracts from laboratory or biobank registers. Send it to Region Skåne, Regionarkivet, Journalservice, Box 24046, 224 21 Lund (form).
  3. Request for official documents. Under the Freedom of the Press Act (Tryckfrihetsförordningen, TF) you can get copies of named documents. A request "ska behandlas skyndsamt" (must be handled promptly); a fee may apply (TF 2 kap. 16 §).
  4. GDPR response time. Under GDPR the controller must reply within one month, a deadline that can be extended by two further months (IMY).

Not verified:

  • Region Skåne's current fees for paper copies and images. Two Region Skåne leaflets reportedly give conflicting fees, and neither fee schedule has been verified.
  • [I] Whether the clinic or contact nurse will print the PAD and flow-cytometry reports directly. This is often the fastest route.
